The Chiefs and members of the Agotime Development Association of North America (ADANA) have announced the celebration of the 4th Annual Agotime Kente Festival.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Hotel located at 10000 Baltimore Avenue, Maryland, 20740.
The festival will be a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the fabric, starting with a captivating Kente weaving exhibition showcasing the remarkable skills of Master Kente weavers from Agotime, Volta Region of Ghana. The event will continue with a splendid Dinner Banquet that will start at 7:00 PM and end at 1:00 AM
The primary aim of the event is to celebrate the Royal Fabric, Kente, and to preserve the distinctiveness of the Agotime Kente cloth, along with its unique technology and creativity. The festival serves as a platform to foster unity, symbolising national cohesion, and provides an occasion for an artistic display of the rich Ghanaian culture. This year’s theme, “Improving Health Care Delivery for Citizens of Agotime,” underscores the commitment of the organisers to support the enhancement of health facilities in Agotime through the proceeds from the event.
The festival promises an array of engaging activities, including Dinner, Cultural Dancing, and the Crowning of the 2025 Miss Kente.
One of the key organisers of the event, Thompson Yao Avornyotse, CEO of TY Kente and Tours said, “We are incredibly excited about this year’s event and expect participants from Ghana and across North America, including the local Washington Metro area.”
