5,675 delegates expected at NPP National Delegates Conference

Chairman of the Planning Committee for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming National Delegates Conference, Joseph Osei-Owusu, widely known as Joe Wise, has confirmed that a total of 5,675 delegates will take part in the highly anticipated two-day event.

The conference is slated for Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19, 2025, and will be hosted at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.

Speaking at a press briefing held at the party’s national headquarters in Asylum Down, Mr. Osei-Owusu revealed that “all activities related to the conference will be held exclusively at the stadium,” ensuring a centralised and coordinated programme.

He gave firm assurance that meticulous planning had gone into logistics, security, and organisation—measures aimed at ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the conference.

“We have made all the necessary arrangements to ensure that this important conference proceeds in a peaceful, well-organised, and secure environment,” he declared.

The conference will bring together the NPP’s most influential figures, including national executives, regional leaders, and grassroots delegates. As the party charts a new course toward the 2028 general elections, the gathering will serve as a critical platform for strategic reflection and realignment.

The Planning Committee insists that the security setup around the venue will be watertight, with collaboration between party marshals and state security agencies to prevent any disruptions.

The NPP’s National Delegates Conference comes at a crucial time for the party, which is still regrouping from its loss in the 2024 elections. Expectations are high that the conference will signal a renewed focus, unity, and direction as the party begins its long march toward reclaiming power.
