A recent Global InfoAnalytics poll has identified Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the preferred candidate among New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters for the 2028 presidential election.

Dr. Bawumia, who is currently leading the party into the 2024 general elections, emerged as the clear front-runner should the NPP seek a new flagbearer in the next election cycle.

According to the poll, 48% of overall respondents favor Dr. Bawumia as the next NPP leader in 2028. His closest competitor, Kennedy Agyapong, secures 25%, while Dr. Osei Adutwum follows with 13%. The remaining candidates collectively garner 14% of the vote.

Among NPP supporters specifically, Dr. Bawumia’s dominance is even more pronounced, with 57% backing him for the next leadership contest. Kennedy Agyapong holds 22%, while Dr. Osei Adutwum trails with 11%.

The results underscore Dr. Bawumia’s strong standing within the party, reflecting continued support for his leadership beyond the 2024 elections. His tenure as Vice President and his current role as NPP flagbearer seem to have cemented his position as the preferred successor for the party’s top leadership.
