The Business Cup Challenge (BCC) 2025 was nothing short of exhilarating! After an eight-year hiatus, last year’s grand return set the stage for an even fiercer and more dynamic competition this year — proving that young entrepreneurs are more than ready to shake up Ghana’s business landscape.

From 13 schools and 35 teams in 2024 to an impressive 17 schools and 33 teams in 2025, the competition has continued to grow, attracting more talent, creativity, and groundbreaking ideas. And in a fascinating twist, Dominion Christian Academy secured the 2nd Runner-Up position yet again — a remarkable display of consistency and resilience!

The GNAT Hall in Accra was buzzing with excitement on Friday, February 21st, as teams passionately pitched their innovative business ideas. This year’s theme, “Internet of Things (IoT),” challenged students to integrate smart technology into cutting-edge business solutions, and the results were nothing short of inspiring.

Meet the Winners

Taking home the ultimate prize of GHC30,000, Team Linkbridge from Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon, emerged as the champions, impressing judges with their ingenious approach and seamless execution.

Team Smartwave from Delhi Private School (DPS) International wowed both judges and audience, securing the 1st Runner-Up position and GHC15,000 for their innovative pitch that showcased creativity and technical brilliance.

Once again proving their mettle, Dominion Christian Academy claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot, earning GHC10,000, marking back-to-back victories in the highly competitive challenge.

Special Awards

Among the standout moments of the event was a riveting presentation by Parres Medie Darko from DPS International, who claimed the Best Female Pitch award, captivating the audience with her confidence and eloquence.

Dennis Osei from PRESEC Legon also delivered a stellar performance, earning the Best Male Pitch award with his exceptional presentation and clarity of thought.

Sponsors and Prizes Galore

The success of BCC 2025 would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors:

mNotify, the main sponsor, contributed GHC25,000 cash prize, GHC4,000 worth of engagement tools, and an astonishing GHC50,000 innovative deal opportunity for any team ready to take their idea further.
Turf Devices backed the competition with GHC5,000 cash and products worth GHC15,000, including a tabletop fridge for the winning team, 10,000mAh power banks, and Bluetooth headsets for awardees.
Pod Solutions added to the prize pool with a GHC10,000 cash sponsorship, ensuring participants had the motivation and resources to drive their innovative projects.
BlueSkies Ghana kept everyone refreshed by providing free drinks to all participating schools throughout the event.
Amnesty International also honored the winning teams with branded souvenirs, further recognizing their outstanding achievements.

A Platform for Future Business Leaders

Beyond the winners, the true triumph of BCC 2025 was the energy, creativity, and determination displayed by all participants. Every team brought fresh, thought-provoking ideas, making it abundantly clear that Ghana’s future entrepreneurs are poised to make significant impacts in the business world.

As Lancaster University Ghana continues to champion entrepreneurship and leadership among young minds, the Business Cup Challenge remains a beacon of opportunity, igniting the passion and drive of students to transform their business dreams into reality.
