Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has commended President John Dramani Mahama for staying true to his campaign pledges, hailing him as a “Talk and Do” leader.

During a parliamentary discussion on the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, Mr. Ayariga emphasized that the government’s latest financial plan reflects President Mahama’s commitment to fulfilling his promises.

“Mr. Speaker, the budget clearly establishes President John Dramani Mahama as a Talk and Do President of Ghana,” he declared.

Citing key policy decisions, Mr. Ayariga pointed to the removal of the E-Levy, Betting Tax, and Emission Levy as clear proof that the president is delivering on his word.

“Mr. Speaker, E-levy abolished, E-levy ‘Yamutu’, Talk and Do President; Betting Tax ‘Yamutu’, Talk and Do President,” he stated emphatically.

He also noted the planned removal of Value Added Tax (VAT) on motor vehicle insurance policies, reaffirming the president’s dedication to easing financial burdens on Ghanaians.

“Mr. Speaker, President John Dramani Mahama promised to abolish the VAT on motor vehicle insurance policy, Mr. Speaker that is also going. Talk and Do President,” he added.

The 2025 Budget Statement, presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on March 11 under the theme “Resetting Ghana for the Economy We Want,” has since sparked extensive debate in Parliament. The discussions officially concluded on March 25, following remarks from both the Majority and Minority Leaders.
