Apostle Dr. Kadmiel E.H. Agbelenyo, Leader and Founder of the Seventh Day Theocracy World Congregation, has urged church leaders to venture into farming to produce more food for export and local consumption.

He said such ventures would create job opportunities for the youth and encourage them to stay in the country instead of traveling abroad in search of white-collar jobs.

Apostle Dr. Agbelenyo made this call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Otiakrom-Shallom, near Aburi in the Eastern Region, after the one-week annual Sabbath Day celebrations.

He said the cultivation of vegetables, cassava, palm plantations, coconut, and other crops could contribute to the country’s economic growth.

“Apart from our minerals and cocoa, Ghana has fertile lands for farming,” he said, appealing to church leaders to approach chiefs for land acquisition to engage in agriculture.

Apostle Dr. Agbelenyo stated that his church had already acquired over one hundred hectares of land at Offinso in the Central Region for a palm plantation, which had provided employment for the local youth.

He also advised young people to reconsider traveling abroad in search of white-collar jobs and instead take up farming as a career, which could benefit both their future and their families.

He announced plans to acquire additional land for vegetable cultivation soon.

Apostle Dr. Agbelenyo also urged the youth to abandon social vices and engage in Bible studies to grow into God-fearing individuals.

He emphasized that farming is an opportunity that, if pursued, could help solve financial challenges.

“Farming is a great opportunity, which is why God created the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve settled,” he noted.

He added that farm produce could be exported for foreign exchange while also supplying local markets to promote the country’s economic development.
