The Ho Municipal Assembly is on the verge of a new chapter with the nomination of Hon. Stephen Adom as its Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

In an interview on Ho Base Radio Swiss FM on Monday, March 31, 2025, Hon. Adom shared his vision for the assembly, emphasizing an action-oriented approach to governance. His leadership is expected to bring significant improvements to the municipality, with key initiatives already generating enthusiasm.

A top priority for Hon. Adom is the introduction of farming projects aimed at boosting food production, increasing Internally Generated Funds (IGF), and enhancing youth employment. By leveraging agriculture, the assembly hopes to stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities for the youth, and improve local road networks.

Hon. Adom emphasized that transparency and accountability will be central to his administration. He outlined plans to form small teams tasked with investigating petitions and addressing controversies within the assembly to ensure that residents’ concerns are heard. Additionally, he has pledged to provide regular updates to the municipality, including reports to local chiefs, within three months of assuming office.

To address urban challenges, Hon. Adom is committed to improving vehicular movement and parking issues at the Ho main station and market areas. Through collaboration with stakeholders, he aims to develop sustainable solutions that will enhance mobility and overall quality of life for both residents and visitors.

In his drive for greater transparency, Hon. Adom has vowed to make the assembly’s budget publicly accessible before implementation. This initiative is expected to increase accountability and ensure efficient financial management, allowing residents to monitor how public funds are utilized.

Hon. Adom also recognizes the crucial role of media engagement in governance. By fostering open communication with the public, he hopes to build trust and keep residents informed about the assembly’s activities.

Furthermore, he has committed to visiting all electoral areas to listen to the concerns of assembly members and community members firsthand. This hands-on approach is expected to help him make well-informed decisions that reflect the real needs of the people.

Hon. Adom’s nomination by President John Dramani Mahama has been met with widespread confidence in his ability to lead Ho towards growth and progress. His extensive experience in local governance makes him a strong candidate for the role.

As he prepares to take office, Hon. Adom acknowledges the collaborative efforts of the assembly members and reiterates his commitment to making Ho a thriving municipality. He has also advocated for the use of the Ewe language in the Assembly, promoting cultural heritage and fostering better communication within the community.
