NDC runs with whatever comes into their head to tarnish image — NPP’s Dr. Ekua Amoako

Dr. Ekua Amoako, the 2024 NPP manifesto spokesperson on health, has accused the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of making false claims to tarnish the image of political opponents.

According to her, the NDC fabricates allegations without evidence and uses them as a tool for political attacks.

In an interview on Accra-based GHOne TV, she cited the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine’s claim that a Member of Parliament took money to kill the exposé on ghost names at the National Service Authority as an example of such unfounded allegations.

“Do you think an MP has the authority to suppress a story?

“If you believe someone has committed an offense, this is your time to prove it. We are waiting and hoping you can substantiate all the frivolous allegations you made,”she stated.

“It’s like every day they wake up, and whatever gets into their heads, that’s what they run with to tarnish people’s images,” she added.

Dr. Amoako also urged the Attorney General to prosecute individuals allegedly involved in misappropriating state funds instead of making accusations without proof.

“You came, you sat somewhere, and suddenly claimed that $8 billion had been stolen from the Ghanaian economy and that you were going to retrieve it.

“We are waiting. The Attorney General said that by the end of March, he would have started prosecuting MPP appointees. Now we’re in April. We are all waiting.

“You’ve made so many allegations, and this is nothing new. As I always say, it’s like watching the same movie—just a different scene,”she stated.
