Lawyer Hamza Suhuyini, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, has taken a swipe at Assin South Member of Parliament, Rev. Ntim Fordjour.

According to Mr. Suhuyini, Rev. Fordjour and Old Tafo MP, Vincent Ekow Assifuah, are attempting to adopt the investigative style of North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, but are failing to execute it properly.

In opposition, Mr. Ablakwa exposed several corruption-related scandals under the immediate past New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

However, Mr. Suhuyini argued that the NPP lawmakers lack the meticulous approach of Mr. Ablakwa, who always provided tangible evidence to support his claims.

“Ablakwa was meticulous in the exposés he brought to the attention of the state, and he was responsible in how he put out information. That is why you saw him writing to state agencies to demand answers.

“So when I look at the likes of Ntim Fordjour and Vincent Assifuah, I see them trying to cast themselves in the mould of Ablakwa when he was in opposition,” he said.

Mr. Suhuyini urged the NPP MPs to humble themselves and learn from Mr. Ablakwa, adding that even while in government, the NDC sets the standard for how opposition parties should act.

“Even in government, the NDC is setting the standard for how to behave in opposition. But instead of humbling themselves and learning from the source—Hon. Ablakwa—they assume it’s just politics as usual.

“They think they can just hold press conferences based on limited or questionable information and remain politically relevant. It doesn’t work that way. They are young men, and they must be humble enough to learn,” he said.
