National Chief Imam, Nandom Naa deepen bilateral relationships for national development

Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, the Chief of Nandom, paid a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to congratulate him on the successful completion of Ramadan.

This visit underscored the importance of fostering interfaith dialogue and collaboration between traditional and religious leaders in Ghana.

Naa Prof. Delle Chiir VIII, a devoted Catholic, distinguished dermatologist, and entrepreneur with over five decades of experience, emphasized the need for traditional and religious leaders to work together in advancing national development. He commended the National Chief Imam for his unwavering commitment to promoting peace and unity in Ghana.

Speaking after the meeting, Naa Prof. Delle Chiir VIII described the Chief Imam as a unifying figure whose influence transcends politics, religion, and traditional beliefs. “The National Chief Imam is an epitome of national security and peace, links across the different faiths in the country and the father of the nation,” he stated.

The National Chief Imam, speaking through his interpreter, expressed gratitude for the visit and offered prayers for the well-being of the Nandom Naa. He also emphasized the need for continued engagement between traditional and religious leaders to drive national development.

The meeting was attended by Alhaji Abdul Lateef, the protocol officer of the Chief Imam, and Sheikh Armiyau Shaibu, the spokesperson. The National Chief Imam described the visit as a step toward strengthening relations between the two leaders and setting a precedent for future collaborations.

As the representative of the Ghanaian Muslim community, the Chief Imam has been instrumental in fostering interfaith unity and supporting national development initiatives. The visit by the Nandom Naa highlights the critical role traditional leaders play in promoting social cohesion and community progress.

This engagement serves as a powerful reminder that interfaith cooperation remains a cornerstone of Ghana’s stability and development. By working together, leaders from different religious and cultural backgrounds can continue to build bridges and ensure a more harmonious future for all.
