[VIDEO] ‘We were truly afraid of Mahama, we did everything to prevent his second coming’ — Maurice Ampaw confesses

Maurice Ampaw, a well-known legal practitioner and a proud member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), recently stunned many with his post-election confessions.

He openly admitted that the NPP was well aware that the then flagbearer of NDC John Dramani Mahama posed a significant threat contrary to the public image they had been projecting.

Speaking candidly on his show on Wontumi FM, Ampaw said: “We knew Mahama was our biggest threat.

“Forget the public noise. Internally, we respected him. We feared him. And we knew if the NDC presented him, it was going to be a difficult election.”

This admission stands in stark contrast to the narrative the NPP had crafted for public consumption. Throughout the campaign, party leaders and supporters worked tirelessly to paint Mahama as a worn-out former president, clinging to past glory. But according to Ampaw, this was all part of a calculated strategy.

“The plan was simple,” he confessed. “We had to destroy his image before the people. We had to create doubt in their minds. Not because we believed he had nothing to offer — but because we knew he had too much to offer.”
