This statement follows Inter’s impressive 2-1 win on the road at Allianz Arena against Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich.
“It’s sad Inzaghi is not getting the necessary recognition he deserves. He is doing so well with Inter, but you will never hear his name,” Appiah said on the Betway Mallam goal podcast.
“For years now, they (Inter Milan) have dominated the Italian League. They are doing so well. Their impressive performance was on full display three seasons ago in Istanbul, where they faced off against Manchester City in the Champions League final,” he added.
Inzaghi’s coaching career has been nothing short of remarkable.
The 48-year-old began his coaching journey at Lazio, where he previously played as a striker.
He coached the Biancocelesti at various youth team levels before taking over the senior team in 2016.
Under his leadership, Lazio won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana trophies, secured Champions League qualification, and even reached the knockout rounds.
In 2021, Inzaghi joined Inter Milan, where he has faced new challenges and pressures.
Despite these challenges, he has led the team to six trophies, including three consecutive Supercoppa Italian titles(2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24), two consecutive Copa Italia titles ( 2021/22 and 2022/23), and the Club’s unforgettable Scudetto win in 2023/24.
Inter Milan also reached the Champions League final during the 2022-23 season where they narrowly lost to Pep’s Manchester City.
This season, Inter Milan is still in the hunt for several more trophies.
In Serie A, they lead Napoli by three points, with former Nerazzurri, Chelsea, and Juventus coach Antonio Conte at the helm.
After their impressive 2-1 away win, Inter Milan has one foot in the Champions League semifinals and is hoping to continue their fine form in their quest for their first UCL success since 2010.
