The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man seen in a widely circulated video attacking another individual with a cutlass near a fuel tanker.
Identified as Dawuda Sumaila, a driver, the suspect was apprehended following an intelligence-led operation on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
The violent incident took place on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Anyinam in the Eastern Region.
Sumaila is currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.

The Ghana Police Service, through an intelligence-led operation, on 9th April 2025, arrested a suspect seen in a viral video physically assaulting a young man with a machete by a fuel tanker.
The suspect, Dawuda Sumaila who is a tanker driver’s mate is currently in police custody assisting investigations into the incident.
The incident took place on Friday, 4th April 2025 at Anyinam in the Eastern Region.
