Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, a former Minister of Education
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, a former Minister of Education, is the latest to support victims of the Adum Blue Light fire disaster, which destroyed traders’ investments worth millions of Ghana Cedis.
Since March 21, when the inferno occurred, victims have received various forms of support from the government and other well-meaning Ghanaians, after losing virtually all their livelihoods.
The former Education Minister took his turn on Thursday, April 10, to show solidarity with the hundreds of traders as they make strenuous efforts to recover from what is considered the most devastating fire disaster in the recent history of Kumasi.
He donated an amount of GH¢100,000.00 and 200 bags of cement to the leadership of the traders, after being taken around the fire scene to witness the extent of the devastation firsthand.
Dr. Adutwum sympathized with the victims and encouraged them to remain resilient as breadwinners of their families.
He said he could not turn his back on the very people whose unwavering support he had previously enjoyed as Education Minister.
He expressed hope that the modest support would assist them as they work to rebuild their shops.
