Wassa Amenfi West’s newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Priscilla Yorke, is calling on assembly members and staff to support her vision for the municipality’s development.
As the first female MCE of the area, Yorke expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming endorsement she received during her confirmation, securing 20 “yes” votes out of 28.
Priscilla Yorke, a two-term Women’s Organizer for the constituency and now MCE, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in leadership.
“Leadership is not a one-man show; it requires teamwork, collaboration, and unity. I see this role as not just a position, but a calling to serve together,” she said.
She pledged to work closely with all stakeholders, including traditional authorities, to drive positive change and achieve development goals through teamwork.
Some potential focus areas she outlined for her vision include:
Infrastructure Development: Improving roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other critical infrastructure.
Economic Growth: Supporting local businesses, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating job opportunities.
Social Services: Enhancing access to education, healthcare, and social welfare programs.
Priscilla Yorke reaffirmed her leadership style by stating, “I will lead with integrity, humility, and respect for all, working hand-in-hand with stakeholders to move the municipality in a developmental direction that benefits everyone.”
