Asante Kotoko’s Head of Public Relations, Sarfo Duku, has made it clear that the club’s expectation for Prosper Narteh Ogum’s successor is nothing short of a domestic double winning both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to announce a new head coach in the coming days following the departure of Dr. Ogum. Despite a dip in form, the team remains in contention, currently sitting fourth on the league table, six points behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars, and are through to the FA Cup semi-finals.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Duku admitted that reclaiming the league title has become more challenging, but stressed that it remains achievable.
“We will continue to give our all to win the double, as promised. Even though we’ve lost the top spot and now trail by six points, we still believe it’s possible,” he said.
He further emphasized that regardless of how difficult the task appears, the mandate for the incoming coach remains the same — to fight for both trophies.
“Given the points still available, we can still recapture what seems lost. Whoever takes charge must understand that this is Kotoko — a club that enters every competition as favorites. Winning the double remains our benchmark.”
Duku concluded by reaffirming the club’s high standards and the expectation that the new coach will carry on the mission to secure silverware on both fronts.
