Nana Akosua Anima I, the newly outdoored Queen Mother of Atwima Takyiman in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has pledged to champion quality healthcare, youth empowerment, and community development.
She made this commitment during her outdooring ceremony held on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025.
In her address, Nana Akosua Anima I expressed deep concern about the condition of the community’s health facility, particularly the maternity ward, where pregnant women are forced to share the same space with other patients during labour.
She promised to spearhead the renovation of the facility to improve the quality of healthcare delivery in the community.
She also called on the youth to shun deviant behaviours and instead pursue education and vocational skills.
“I urge all the youth to be of good behaviour, and I promise to ensure proper healthcare, education, and also make sure that at least we get jobs to do.”
Nana Akosua Anima I, pledged to follow in the footsteps of her predecessors and seek guidance from the elders in order to serve effectively.
As part of the ceremony, a 34-seater ultra-modern toilet facility was commissioned, and sod was cut for the construction of a new community centre.
The Chief of Atwima Takyiman, Nana Afriyie Takyi III, urged community members to help maintain the new sanitation facility for the benefit of all.
Atwima Queen Mother Nana Akua Kyere III, speaking on behalf of Atwimamanhene Nana Antwi Agyei II and the traditional council, encouraged residents to give Nana Akosua Anima I the respect and cooperation needed to carry out her duties effectively.
Nana Akosua Anima I emphasized her openness to constructive criticism and expressed her desire to promote peace and unity within the community.
The colourful event was attended by dignitaries, including the Member of Parliament for the Kwadaso Constituency, Hon. Kingsley Nyarko, members of the clergy, and guests from Canada and other countries.
