Two sisters, Akalu Emefa, 15, and Emmanuela Dziwornu, 8, were found murdered in a bush near their farm at Brewaniase in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.

The incident occurred on Sunday, April 20, after their mother, Madam Akpalu Mawusi, sent them to the farm.

The police in Nkwanta have recovered the bodies and deposited them at the Municipal morgue and have also launched an investigation into the gruesome murder.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lawrence Wiafe, the Crime Officer, briefing the Ghana News Agency, assured that efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The tragedy has sparked widespread grief and outrage, with residents demanding increased security measures to protect vulnerable children.

The chiefs and elders of the community have pledged their support for the investigation and are calling for swift action to prevent similar incidents.

The police would conduct further examinations on the bodies.

The community is rallying behind the family, demanding justice for the two young girls.
