Veteran journalist and TV presenter Paul Adom-Otchere has issued a stern warning to the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, accusing him of allegedly trying to sabotage his show.
According to the host of the current affairs program Good Evening Ghana, he has observed a pattern where the multi-channel service provider DSTV, which carries his popular show, experiences disruptions whenever he is on air.
In a video shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), a visibly concerned Adom-Otchere expressed suspicion that the government, uncomfortable with the topics discussed on his program, may be deliberately attempting to frustrate the show.
“Every time we are on TV, then DSTV goes off. Every time we are on TV, then YouTube goes off. Why? What is this? Don’t they want people to hear what we are saying?” he questioned. “Let me take a short break and tell everyone that I am complaining, every time I am on TV, DSTV goes off.”
Directly addressing the minister, he added, “Samuel Nartey George, I will come after you. Don’t bring yourself. You don’t want people to hear what we are saying? Stop that. The person you were calling Nebuchadnezzar, did he turn off DSTV for people who were criticizing him? We are teaching Ghanaians history, and you’re afraid of the history, so you’re turning off the TV? What is that?”
