The Black Damsels secured a convincing 2-0 win in their second group stage game over Benin at the University of Ghana on matchday two, Thursday, April 25.
Strikes from Christiana Ashiaku and Belinda Kpentey proved decisive for Joyce Boatey-Agyei’s team.
Having taken the lead in the first half through Ashiaku, Ghana strengthened their advantage after Kpentey was expertly played through by her teammate, making no error and slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.
Despite being wasteful in front of goal against Morocco in their opener, Ghana came out firing in their second match, showing no signs of letting up.
This win marks the team’s second consecutive victory in the tournament, having previously defeated Morocco 1-0.
With two wins from two games, Ghana has secured a spot in the semifinals, showcasing the team’s exceptional skill and determination.
