Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 flagbearer, has contributed a total of GHC 3 million to bolster the party’s welfare programmes in the first quarter of 2025.
The Vice President made the first installment of GHC 2 million in January, which was presented to the party’s National Treasurer on behalf of the General Secretary and National Chairman. A few weeks ago, he followed up with an additional GHC 1 million to further support the initiative.
The most recent donation was officially handed over to National Treasurer Charles Dwamena at the NPP headquarters in Accra.
Party executives say the funds are intended to enhance the NPP’s internal welfare structures and provide crucial support to party members, especially during challenging times.
The gesture is part of Dr. Bawumia’s broader effort to strengthen the party base and reinforce his commitment to the well-being of grassroots supporters.
Mr. Dwamena, receiving the contribution, expressed appreciation for Dr. Bawumia’s continued generosity, noting that the funds will be managed responsibly and channeled into impactful welfare projects.
This donation comes as the NPP ramps up its internal preparations ahead of upcoming primaries, with a renewed emphasis on party cohesion, member support, and mobilization at the grassroots level.
