Ernest Danso, President of Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation, has secured the position of third Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee(GOC).
He garnered 43 votes to defeat Mohammed Mahadi’s 19 in Saturday’s election.
Danso previously served as Chef de Mission for Ghana at the 13th African Games in Accra and rose to prominence through his innovative initiatives with the Ghana Baseball and Softball Association.
Under his leadership, the Association has elevated Ghana’s baseball presence in Africa despite limited government funding.
Notably, Ghana’s Under-18 Baseball team won the African Youth Championships in South Africa this January and is now preparing for the World Championships in Mexico.
This victory marked the country’s second title, following their win in Cape Coast two years prior.
Meanwhile, Badminton president Evans Yeboah has also been elected as the new GOC treasurer after winning by three vote difference.
