Ghana is a country where widespread corruption, money laundering, state capture, and embezzlement have led to the collapse of the nation’s infrastructure, taking their toll on the people. However, nobody has ever been prosecuted to face legal actions. Surprisingly, politicians with evidence of financial criminality have the ability to sue the attorney general or government officials who are pursuing them because the current Supreme Court is an institution occupied by NPP-appointed judges.
When Akufo-Addo went on a rampage by appointing the highest number of judges to the Supreme Court, it wasn’t for nothing; it had meaning. In my several publications, I exposed that the former president is erecting a high wall that no one can climb because he is aware that the crimes he perpetrated must be answered. Gertrude Torkornoo, a full member of the NPP who exposed her true self by working only for Akufo-Addo, is one of the cornerstones for the NPP criminals.
When I watched one of the videos of the former Ghanaian leader, John Jerry Rawlings, my suspicions regarding Akufo-Addo packing the judiciary with NPP justices were validated. He claims that the past government will appoint NPP politicians to the judiciary to monopolize it and make it extremely difficult to access, and that prediction is true. The state-captured governance book “Agyapadie” also made reference to this accusation, which is why Gertrude Torkornoo is reluctant to leave.
A nation devolves into a lawless state when officials begin embezzling, stealing state property, indulging in rampant corruption, and laundering money without facing consequences. Despite all the evidence of their financial crimes and illegal acquisition, some NPP politicians, such as Cecilia Dapaah, Ken Ofori-Atta, Eugene Arhin, Victor Kusi Boateng, and Kwabena Adu-Boahene, were inspired by the occupation of Gertrude Torkornoo at the Supreme Court to have the audacity to sue the government.
Victor Kusi Boateng
It is quite difficult for me to call this criminal, who was born to two mothers and fathers, a reverend, pastor, or priest because he is not eligible to be any of these, regardless of whether he attended a pastoral school or received papal ordination. Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa discovered that Victor Kusi Boateng, whose other name is Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi, was born to two parents and served as the National Cathedral’s secretary to the board of trustees, which turned into a national scandal that resulted in the misappropriation of $58 million.
The criminal and corrupt man of God had the audacity to sue Sam Ablakwa for defamation and soiling his reputation, just because he knew the number of NPP judges Akufo-Addo had appointed to the Supreme Court and therefore, they will rule in his favor and rather prosecute Okudzeto Ablakwa. The case was dismissed in favor of Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa based on the documents he submitted to support his claims about the offender. When a priest becomes a Mafia, how can a nation succeed?
Many people think that a nation’s economy is its most important factor, and while this is true, a weak judicial system also has an impact on a country’s economy since it allows people to steal from the government without penalty. That is precisely how the previous Ghanaian government of the former vice president Mahamudu Bawumia and former president Akufo-Addo led the country: lawless, arrogant, autocratic, and corrupt, thereby destroying Ghana beyond repair.
Ken Ofori-Atta
Another thief and professional criminal who goes in white shirts and trousers to cover up his criminal activities and illegal operations to evade detection by the radar is Akufo-Addo’s relative and former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta. Among his many other misdeeds, Ken Ofori-Atta targeted and destroyed businesses that were not for members of the NPP. To ensure his Data Bank had a monopoly, he methodically shut down nearly eight financial institutions that needed less money to operate than the amount he used to close their doors.
The former finance minister received a portion of all loans and funds given for the country’s development projects. What’s more shocking is that he embezzled a large portion of these loans and funds, including those from the International Monetary Fund and COVID-19, along with his NPP colleagues and his family member, the president. Additionally, he was involved in extensive corruption in the following areas: the Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) Contract, the ECG and Beijing Jao Loss Reduction Contract, the National Cathedral Procurement Scandal, and the Health Ministry’s contracts with Service Ghana Auto Limited (Ambulances Deal).
After former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, who is also responsible for the collapse of the economy and businesses, turned down every invitation from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate the financial crimes, Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, was compelled to declare him a fugitive. In a startling development, the criminal, thief, embezzler, and crook Ofori-Atta filed a lawsuit against the OSP and its head, Kissi Agyebeng, claiming that they had unlawfully declared him wanted.
Why should the Office of the Special Prosecutor be sued by a criminal who has embezzled so much money from Ghana and destroyed the economy and companies of political rivals? The reason is the same as his colleagues: since Akufo-Addo has appointed so many NPP judges to the High or Supreme Courts to defend their crimes, Ofori-Atta sued with the same motivation. I am, therefore, right when I say that NPP corrupt politicians have the power to sue because of the NPP judge Torkornoo.
Kwabena Adu-Boahene
In an investigation to examine the effects of corruption, which involved mismanagement of funds and money laundering by the opposition government, the NPP, that resulted in the collapse of the once-vibrant economy, businesses, and investments, Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine confirmed the arrest of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), who is accused of embezzlement, fraud, and illicit financial transactions.
Mr. Adu-Boahene, who led the NSB from 2017 to February 2025, was arrested at Kotoka International Airport after attempting to outwit security personnel who were waiting for him. He is accused of using fraudulent means to transfer GHS 49 million, or approximately $7 million, in public funds into his personal accounts. According to Attorney General Dr. Ayine, Adu-Boahene signed a $7 million contract with Israeli business ISC Holdings Limited in 2020 for a cybersecurity system.
With his wife, Kwabena Adu-Boahene carried out secret financial activities and transferred the money into their individual bank accounts. Ghanaians were shocked when Adu-Boahene used the lawlessness of the NPP government to amass wealth in the shortest amount of time after entering politics, much like Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie-Sir John, former sanitation minister Cecilia Dapaah, and former president’s communications director Eugene Arhin at Flagstaff House.
Ghanaians were not surprised when Kwabena Adu-Boahene and his spouse exploited the NPP judges at the Supreme Court and relied on the suspended Gertrude Torkornoo to join his colleagues in suing Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine for defamation after the attorney general accused him of crimes. This further confirmed that NPP politicians in Ghana who are accused of embezzlement or corruption have the authority to sue those who are pursuing them.
The only way to rebuild Ghana and get rid of these raging wolves or criminals masquerading as politicians is to uproot the foundations of the corrupt justice system under Gertrude Torkornoo, which President Mahama has constitutionally begun. Until this corrupt judicial system is eradicated, Ghana’s reset and the NDC administration’s anti-corruption efforts would be in vain. Gertrude Torkornoo should be removed for Ghana to be a better country and the NPP political criminals to face legal action.
