Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team crowned a brilliant campaign by defeating Uganda 2-1 to win the 2025 African Schools Football Championship (ASFC) girls’ edition.

The Black Damsels booked their place in the final after a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending champions South Africa, and followed it up with another impressive performance to edge Uganda and secure the continental title.

Despite the heavy rains that threatened to mar the game at the University of Ghana Stadium, the team were relentless and earned a hard fought 2-1 win under their head coach Joyce Boatey-Agyei.

As champions, the team will receive a cash prize of $300,000, with $200,000 awarded to the runners-up and $150,000 to the third-placed team in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team wrapped up their tournament with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win over Uganda in the third-place playoff.

Coached by Kwaku Danso, the boys showed resilience after trailing at halftime to secure the bronze medal at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday.
