Captain Ibrahim Traore has become a hero in Africa the new Thomas Sankara. Other African leaders are scared of his love for his people and set reforms in motion so as not to be seen as wicked by their own people.
Military officers know how to fight, protect, and kill. They are not trained to run a nation. The tools of politics are not at their disposal. Captain Ibrahim Traore has declared not to be President of Faso for always. His various initiatives have sparked anger and jealousy in Paris and Washington to the extent they want to assassinate him or arrest him.
His military friends and political allies in and outside the country stand firm behind the way of their young Captain. The old true saying goes: the friend you nurture will be your worst enemy over time.
How much does Traore know about history? After a while possibly before the next presidential election, his closest allies will question him, doubt him, and turn against him. The euphoria of the moment for all to stand together in unity soon can turn to ashes.
He should take the next step to secure his position and life:
1.) Write a book and outline the future of Faso for at least the next 50 years and rally the nation behind it as their noble Bible of progress.
2.) Collaborate with a white man preferably from Europe who can protect him and his life from assassination attempts as e.g. would not dare to kill the white European who shields his life and the future of his country. This man could open his eyes to the hidden agenda of the white people and help Faso to progress well. He could moderate the relationship between the continents and bring his expertise to the table.
My international students and my wife Alberta are deeply concerned about the ongoing situation. God bless that Captain.
