In celebration of Financial Literacy Month, the Center for Financial Literacy Education Africa (CFLE Africa) in collaboration with Prudential Life Insurance Ghana organized a transformative Community Market Outreach Program at the vibrant Sunyani Market Center.

This impactful initiative was designed to bring essential financial education directly to the heart of the community, empowering individuals with knowledge and tools to build stronger financial futures.

As part of the campaign, more than 30 trained volunteers fueled by passion and a shared vision for change, came together to engage with market traders, shoppers, and local residents.

These volunteers, drawn from diverse backgrounds including finance, education, and youth organizations, underwent intensive training sessions to equip them with the skills necessary to communicate key financial concepts in simple, relatable ways.

During the outreach, volunteers set up information points across the market, offering one-on-one financial coaching, group discussions, and free educational materials.

Topics covered included budgeting, saving, debt management, insurance awareness, and the importance of financial planning for families and small businesses.

The approach was highly interactive, using real-life examples and storytelling to connect with the audience in a way that was both engaging and impactful.

The enthusiasm from both volunteers and the community was palpable. Traders paused their daily activities to listen, ask questions, and share their own experiences.

Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn about better ways to manage their income, plan for unexpected events, and build towards long-term financial stability.

This outreach was a reflection of CFLE Africa’s founding mission to ignite a financial literacy movement across communities by meeting people where they are and making financial education accessible and practical.

The energy, passion, and commitment demonstrated by the volunteers played a crucial role in the success of the program, turning ordinary market interactions into life-changing financial conversations.

The Executive Director, Peter Asare Nyarko, expressed their deepest gratitude to their partners.

“We are especially grateful to Prudential Life Insurance Ghana and all our dedicated partners, whose support made this outreach possible. Together, we are not just teaching financial principles, we are transforming lives, strengthening families, and building resilient communities.

“As we reflect on the Sunyani Market outreach, we are inspired to push even further to reach more markets, touch more lives, and ensure that financial literacy becomes a lasting part of community growth in Ghana and across Africa, he added.

The Center for Financial Literacy Education Africa and Prudential Life Insurance Ghana as part of the Financial Literacy Month activities have launched a nationwide community market outreach and have already been to Madina Market, Kumasi Kejetia Market and a host of others will benefit as well.
