The Ashanti Sub-Transmission Cable Maintenance team of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), with the support of their colleagues from the Obuasi cable team, on Sunday, April 27, worked tirelessly through the night to resolve an outdoor cable termination fault at Ghana Grid’s Bulk Supply Point yard in Obuasi.
Working under the leadership of the Network Maintenance Manager, Ing. James Mensah Yevunya, the team joined their counterparts in Obuasi and commenced work at about 7:00 PM under challenging weather conditions, which included persistent drizzling.
But the team persisted to ensure the fault was rectified and power restored to affected customers by 11:00 PM.
The Ashanti Sub-Transmission region is responsible for planning, operations, and maintenance of the 33/11 kV Power Distribution System per operational standards and maintenance schedules to ensure a reliable, safe, and quality supply to customers within the Ashanti region.
