The Ghana Export Promotion Authority has completed a 2-day workshop on social media marketing for 25 selected businesses in the beauty and cosmetics sector.

The workshop, an initiative of GEPA’s technology-driven information centre, Impact Hub, was held from April 24, 2025, to April 25, 2025, in Accra, in collaboration with Ghanaian IT consulting firm, Digital Marketing Bureau Consult.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy CEO of GEPA (Operations and Admin), Ambrose Edwin Nsarkoh, said the government is prioritising the development of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) to encourage more young people to embark on entrepreneurial journeys.

The initiative by GEPA, according to him, will increase employment prospects, stimulate production, and facilitate the country’s export growth.

Henry Otoo, Senior Digital Training Consultant at Digital Marketing Bureau Consult, lauded the initiative and urged businesses to allocate resources to social media to help them easily establish connections with their clientele.

He added that each participant of the course will receive six months of after-training support to assist them in facilitating customer engagements online.

In all, 25 business representatives from enterprises in the beauty and cosmetics industry as well as 5 officers from GEPA received certificates of participation after successful completion of the course.

Key topics covered included Digital Branding, Target Markets, Content Strategy, Advertising, Return on Investment (ROI), and Analytics.
