Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, Ashanti Regional President of the Ghana Medical Association, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, effective April 30, 2025.
The announcement was made in a letter signed by Dr. Calistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, which directed that necessary steps be taken to formalize the appointment in line with the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospitals Act, 1996 (Act 525), as amended.
This appointment follows the removal of Professor Okyere Addai Mensah from the position of CEO. Dr. Baidoo’s nomination is expected to usher in a new phase of leadership for one of Ghana’s leading referral hospitals.
Before this appointment, Dr. Baidoo served as the Ashanti Regional President of the Ghana Medical Association, where he was noted for his leadership and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector.
His background as a medical professional and association leader is widely regarded as a strong foundation for his new role. Stakeholders are optimistic that he will bring both expertise and renewed energy to improve the operations and service delivery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
