#SaveTheJudiciaryDemo: We will fight with our blood to oppose Mahama – Nartey

Former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Ebenezer Nartey, has said that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will do everything possible to prevent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from removing the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo.

Speaking with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, Mr. Nartey vowed to defend the judiciary even at the cost of his life, adding that he and other members of the NPP will fight with their blood legally to oppose any attempts by President John Dramani Mahama’s administration to dismiss the CJ.

“Some of us will fight with our blood, and we will resist any attempt by the current president, lawfully, to have a change of mind and hide behind certain groups of people to go to the Supreme Court for interpretation of his tenure of office,” he said on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The former MP made these declarations amidst the party’s ongoing demonstration dubbed ‘Save the Judiciary’ against the suspension of Justice Torkornoo by the president.

Mr. Nartey emphasised that individuals who made the petition to the president have no basis for their claims.

“The issues raised by those people who petitioned the president are useless and baseless. There is no sense in the issues that they have raised,” he said.
