Press Secretary to the Vice President, Ama Pratt, says President John Dramani Mahama has exceeded expectations within his first 120 days in office.
Speaking on GHOne TV’s State of Affairs on Wednesday, May 7, she praised the President for delivering strong results since assuming office on January 7, 2025.
According to her, one of the most notable achievements is Mahama’s commitment to run a lean but effective government, which he has so far delivered on.
“He said 60, we are operating on 56, right? Let’s pause on that for a minute. This country is running on 56 ministers. It hasn’t happened, you know, in our recent history,” she said.
She noted that the President had promised to hit the ground running, and he has done just that by quickly naming his ministers and ensuring their swift vetting and approval.
“As soon as he won the election, he immediately went full force, named the ministers. They went to vetting with the speed of lightning, everybody’s working,” she stated.
Ama Pratt admitted that while a few promises remain unfulfilled, they are held back mainly by constitutional and bureaucratic processes.
“Yes, there are few things that are still in progress. Some of the instances, these are things that require, you know, sometimes change of law…but overall, I would say that he’s even exceeded expectation,” she said.
