Two friends, who were rushing to attend a court session have been involved in a fatal accident with the pillion rider, Kofi Peeh, losing his life at the accident site.

The rider, Attah Kwasi, is said to be fighting for survival as his condition is described by hospital sources as critical.

The duo was rushing to attend a court session in Dambai, in the Oti Regional capital, before being involved in a crash at Yariga No. 2, a farming community in Krachi East Municipality.

A disagreement erupted between Police Officers and members of the deceased family at the Dambai Polyclinic on whether dead body should be preserved for investigation purposes or family carries the body for burial.

However, the decision of the Police ultimately prevailed, and the deceased’s body was taken to the WoraWora Government Hospital.

Atta Kwasi, who was riding the motorbike has been rushed to the Nkwanta South Hospital for further treatment.

Madam Edem Nayo, a family member told GNA that the injured person’s condition remained a concern as medical personnel were working hard to stabilize him.

The family members were left behind at the polyclinic, still grappling with the shock of the tragic incident.

The duo are defendants in a case pending at the district court before the unfortunate accident that claimed the life of Kofi Peeh.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined by the Police.
