Police have mounted a manhunt for Edmond Ayomah, 23 years, in connection with the heartbreaking death of his 28-year-old girlfriend at Jinijini in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region.

The body of the deceased, Gifty Kyere, also a final year student of the Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College had since been deposited at the Berekum Holy Family Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

A source at the Jinijini police station told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday May 9, 2025, saying investigations were still on-going.

The GNA gathered from residents that the deceased left home at Jinijini on Thursday May 8, 2025, and instead of going to school, she visited the suspect’s house in the town and decided to spend the night with him (suspect).

During a visit, scores of people had arrived at the deceased’s family house to sympathise with the bereaved family.

In an interview, Pastor Jonathan Kyere, a Senior Pastor of the Jinijini branch of the Agape Evangelical Church and the father of the deceased, told the GNA that the family was shocked about the incident.
