Suspects in Twifo Praso murder arrested after using victim’s phone

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso, after one of them inadvertently led police to their location by using the victim’s mobile phone.

The Central North Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Isaac Arhin and Richard Armah in relation to the killing of Tahiru Zenabu, whose lifeless body was discovered in her home on April 3, 2025. Her body showed signs of a struggle, with a cloth tied around her neck and blood stains on her hands.

The case took a significant turn when Richard Armah, a phone repairer and spinner based in Twifo Aboabo, used the deceased’s mobile phone to call one of her friends. The recipient, recognizing the number and suspecting foul play, quickly notified the police.

Acting on the tip-off, police tracked the call and arrested Armah on May 5, 2025. Upon interrogation, Armah implicated Isaac Arhin as an accomplice, leading to his arrest shortly thereafter. Investigators have recovered the victim’s phone, which has become a key piece of evidence.

The two suspects were arraigned before court on May 7, 2025, and have been remanded into police custody. They are scheduled to reappear in court on May 21, 2025, as investigations continue.

The murder has deeply unsettled residents of Kokoase, but many have expressed relief over the swift action taken by police. Authorities are urging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to help prevent future crimes.
