Sammy Gyamfi gave me $800 after I asked for fuel – Agradaa reveals

Controversial televangelist Evangelist Mama Pat, popularly known as Agradaa, has publicly expressed her admiration for Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), after a chance meeting that left her impressed—and $800 richer.

Speaking in a now-viral video, Agradaa revealed that during a spontaneous encounter with Sammy Gyamfi, she approached him to apologize for her past criticisms of the NDC and its flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, particularly during the 2024 elections.

“John Dramani Mahama will be president for 8 years. After everything I did to JM and the NDC, when I met Sammy Gyamfi, he didn’t sack me. He welcomed and embraced me,” she said.

Agradaa went on to share that after the warm reception, she asked him for money for fuel.

“…And when he was leaving, I asked him for money. He went into his car and gave me dollars. I asked him for fuel, and he gave me $800,” she stated.

She praised Sammy Gyamfi’s generosity, jokingly declaring her loyalty to him moving forward.

“I need more! Sammy Gyamfi has won my heart with that gesture,” she stated.

Defending her actions and apparent shift in political alignment, she added:

“Today it’s my turn, tomorrow will be your turn, so don’t be angry or envious.”

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, has come under immense criticism for publicly giving out dollars as a public official.

He has since addressed the wave of backlash, describing the moment as a private act of kindness that unexpectedly surfaced in the public domain.

In his statement, he explained that the gesture aligned with his “daily and life-long custom of lending a helping hand to people in need.”

“I sincerely thought that I was doing this act of k indness in private and never imagined that same could find its way into the public space. That is unfortunate and regrettable,” he wrote.
