Jerry Afriyie, CD Lugo
Jerry Afriyie scored a late goal to help CD Lugo rally from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Gimnàstic in the Primera Federacion on Saturday.
Afriyie’s team were down by two goals in the first half but his impressive second half performance helped his side to salvage a point.
Afriyie inspired his teammates to a comeback, setting up Lizancos with 23 minutes left on the clock.
The Ghana international transitioned from provider to scorer, snatching a late equalizer in injury time for the visitors.
The U20 star has now scored three goals and delivered two assists in eight league games for Lugo.
After 36 games, Lugo now lies in 15th position with 43 points, just one point above the relegation zone. With just two games to end the current campaign, the Ghanaian international’s performance will be a welcome boost as his side aims to avoid the drop zone.
Mohammed Kudus, West Ham United
Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus delivered another standout performance for West Ham United, assisting the opening goal in their impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The 23-year-old was a constant threat throughout the match, combining his trademark flair with smart decision-making in the final third. Kudus set the tone for the Hammers’ dominance by teeing up the first goal, which gave Potters’ side the momentum they needed to secure all three points away from home.
Sunday’s assist takes Kudus’ tally to three assists and four goals in 30 Premier League appearances this season—an encouraging return for the former Ajax star in his campaign in English football.
Mohammed Fuseini, Royal Union Saint-Gilloise
22-year-old Ghanaian striker Mohammed Fuseini had gone scoreless in his last eight appearances for Royal Union Saint-Gilloise (RUSG) but he returned to scoring ways after grabbing his first start since mid-February as the acquisition from Sturm Graz calmly finished in the 27th minute after receiving a pass from Franjo Ivanović.
That goal proved to be decider for the Belgian outfit as RUSG are on the verge of clinching the first-ever top division league title in their history.
The former Right to Dream Academy prodigy has nine goals and four assists in 42 appearances this term for the Belgian club.
Ebenezer Mamatah, SC Ashodd
