The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for digital transformation through investments in smart infrastructure, regulatory reforms and inclusive digital literacy programmes.

He made this statement on Friday during the Premier Millennium Economic, Business & Social Impact Summit (MEBSIS 2025) in Kumasi.

He said, “Ghana’s digital future must be inclusive, secure, and sustainable. We’re determined to ensure that no citizen is left behind.”

He highlighted the Ministry’s proactive policies to enhance financial inclusion, stimulate job creation and equip the workforce for the digital age.

Addressing Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy policy, he emphasized the government’s readiness to implement this initiative, which aims to expand economic productivity beyond traditional working hours.

“The 24-Hour Economy policy is no longer just a promise, it’s in motion. Ministries, businesses, and local governments are aligning to activate its full potential,” he stated, noting the initiative’s potential to create new job opportunities and stimulate economic activity nationwide.

The summit, under the theme: “Sustainable Development Goals. A Vibrant Economy as a Catalyst for Transformation,” had business leaders, policymakers, investors and entrepreneurs to explore pathways toward economic resilience and inclusive growth.

MEBSIS 2025 serves as a transformative platform, aligning economic transformation with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The summit aims to foster discussions on technological disruptions, cross-sector partnerships, and empowering youth and women in leadership and entrepreneurship.

The key objectives include exploring economic resilience amid technological shifts, building sustainable partnerships, advancing financial inclusion and promoting youth-driven innovation.
