The Chief Executive officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Dr Saajida Shiraz has announced that reimbursement of fees paid by first year university students will commence in June, 2025.

This is contained in a statement issued in Accra on May 12.

“In a significant step towards alleviating financial hardships faced by first-year students, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) is set to reimburse academic user fees for first-year students pursuing accredited diploma or degree programs in public tertiary institutions for the 2024/2025 academic year, under the No-Fees-Stress policy.

These reimbursements, starting next month, are in conformity with policy directives from the Ministry of Education and underline the John Dramani Mahama government’s commitment to investing in Ghana’s human capital and ensuring a brighter future for its youth,” she wrote.

“To benefit from this initiative, eligible fist-year students are encouraged to submit their applications to the No-Fees-Stress application portal at https://nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh,” Dr Shiraz added.

According to her, “Applications will be validated against admission data from associated public tertiary institutions. We urge all first-year students to apply promptly to secure their reimbursement.”
