The Gallant Cadres of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have lambasted the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what they describe as a hypocritical and double-standard attack on the embattled Acting CEO of GoldBod, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi.
In a strongly worded statement released and signed on Monday, May 12, 2025, by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Richard E. A. Sarpong, also known as Father Casford, the Cadres accused the NPP of selective outrage and political opportunism.
According to the statement, the NPP’s recent press conference criticizing Mr. Gyamfi “exposes their propensity for selective indignation, where they conveniently cherry-pick issues to suit their political agenda.”
The group acknowledged that Mr. Gyamfi’s reported conduct toward Nana Agradaa may raise concerns, but insisted the NPP lacks the moral standing to comment on ethical matters.
“The litany of financial improprieties surrounding Adu Boahen and the questionable dealings of the Sky Train project under their watch are just a few examples of their governance failures,” stressed the statement.
As part of their broader message, the Cadres urged the NPP to focus on accountability within their own ranks. Their statement called on the party to “redirect their energy toward introspection and genuine oversight and stop engaging in the needless and frivolous grandstanding.”
The release forms part of ongoing political back-and-forth between the country’s two major parties ahead of the next election cycle.

Minority’s Hypocritical Outrage: A Case of Selective Indignation
The Minority in Parliament’s recent press conference targeting Sammy Gyamfi’s benevolent gesture to Agraada is a stark illustration of their double standards and hypocritical posturing. This reactionary stance exposes their propensity for selective indignation, where they conveniently cherry-pick issues to suit their political agenda.
While Gyamfi’s gesture may be concerning, the Minority’s outrage lacks credibility given their deafening silence on egregious cases of alleged corruption during their tenure. The litany of financial improprieties surrounding Adu Boahen and the questionable dealings of the Sky Train project under their watch are just a few examples of their governance failures.
The Minority’s inability to hold themselves accountable for their own governance lapses reveals a deep-seated hypocrisy. Rather than engaging in frivolous grandstanding, they should redirect their energy toward introspection and genuine oversight.
We urge the Minority to channel their efforts toward uncovering real corruption cases, particularly those that occurred during their regime. Let’s see them tackle these pressing issues with the same zeal they reserve for politically motivated witch-hunts.
The Minority’s hypocrisy will perpetuate their opposition status quo. Until they adopt a consistent and principled approach, their allegations will be dismissed as mere political rhetoric. Sammy Gyamfi’s commitment to genuine service stands in stark contrast to the Minority’s politicking. Ghana deserves better than hypocritical opposition.
