Motherhood is a role that requires immense patience, love, and dedication — Rev. Niboe-Wuasi

Rev. Elizabeth Niboe-Wuasi, Women Desk Program Officer at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) headquarters, delivered a touching tribute to women around the world, particularly mothers, in a special message marking this year’s Mother’s Day.

Speaking at the 15th Ho East Presbytery Synod held at Abutia Teti in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, Rev. Niboe-Wuasi acknowledged the invaluable role mothers play in shaping families, communities, and generations. She extended warm greetings to “all the precious and wonderful women in the world,” as the global community paused to recognize the strength and selflessness of motherhood.

In her address, she described motherhood as one of the most challenging yet deeply fulfilling roles.

“Motherhood is a role that requires immense patience, love, and dedication,” Rev. Niboe-Wuasi said. “You are the shoulder to cry on, the provider of emotional support, and the embodiment of love and care.”

She praised mothers for their sacrifices—both seen and unseen—and for the emotional and physical labor they give freely out of love. She noted that the tireless work of mothers often goes unacknowledged, even though their contributions shape the very foundations of society.

Rev. Niboe-Wuasi emphasized the daily ways in which mothers express love—whether through routine chores or small, seemingly insignificant gestures that carry deep meaning.

With heartfelt warmth, she described women as “precious, amazing, and wonderful,” and offered her prayers and best wishes for them.

She added: “Endless smiles, good health, and peaceful days surrounded by God’s blessings” is what she hopes for all women on this special day.

The Mother’s Day message served as a powerful reminder of the value of honoring women—not just on celebratory days, but consistently throughout the year. It also reflected on the diverse qualities women embody.

“It is a day to celebrate their strength, softness, sweetness, and seriousness.”

Rev. Niboe-Wuasi’s message, rooted in love and deep respect, resonates as a powerful tribute to mothers everywhere. It underscores the lasting impact women have in their homes and beyond, and it calls on society to continually recognize their indispensable role.

Her words closed with an uplifting blessing for all women: Happy Mother’s Day to all the strong, soft, sweet, and serious women who make a difference in the lives of those around them. May this day bring you joy, love, and celebration!
