The Role Of Paul Adom-Otchere In The NPP’s 2024 Election Defeat

The NPP political party is disintegrating amid disputes and accusations against party members for being responsible, following the loss of the party in the 2024 election. Some claim Akufo-Addo, while others point to Bawumia. Regretfully, none of them have yet acknowledged how quickly Paul Adom-Otchere’s actions pushed the NPP to opposition. Apart from Jean Mensa and Gertrude Torkornoo, Paul Adom-Otchere is also responsible for the factors that led Ghanaians to vote against the NPP.

There was a time when being a journalist made someone happy. In addition to the vital function journalism plays in society by giving residents accurate and trustworthy information, many people take pride in the profession’s educational component, which allows them to learn new things and become acquainted with technology and the modern world. However, because of self-interest and the support for corruption to defend people and regimes, journalism has currently lost its credibility.

All the appointees of Akufo Addo, including Gertrude Torkornoo, Jean Mensa, and Paul Adom-Otchere, had the same objective: to serve the president who appointed them, even though their duty was to serve the people and remain neutral. Along with tribal journalists, writers, and the NPP-sponsored media, Adom-Othere became an expert in transforming Akufo-Addo’s crime into a diamond that Ghanaians could accept as the norm. His failure to deal with the NPP’s immoralities cost the party.

Paul Adom-Otchere has had difficulty upholding the true standard of journalism, which is an essential part of the journalistic code of ethics. The Christmas tree price inflator now flourished to convince Ghanaians that the president, Nana Akufo-Addo, and the NPP politicians’ criminality, corruption, and other things affecting the nation are common in Ghanaian politics and that there is nothing wrong with them, so Ghanaians should applaud the NPP without feeling guilty or embarrassed.

The nation was being destroyed, as the Agyapadie government was harming the people, but Adom-Otchere said nothing about it. When angry Ghanaians started attacking him, he counterattacked by asking the people criticizing him if they were the ones to teach him what to do. Well, Mr. Adom-Otchere, your critics can’t tell you what to do, but they have the power to vote your party out of office. So, today, I come out and blame Paul Adom-Otchere for the NPP’s defeat, and then I know what I am talking about.

As the country’s economy, businesses, and investments collapsed, widespread corruption and money laundering were ripping the country apart, and the youth were suffering from hardships and unemployment. Paul Adom-Otchere chose to use his platform to defend the crimes of NPP politicians, such as those of the president, Akufo-Addo; Ken Ofori-Atta; Cecilia Dapaah; Kwabena Owusu-Afriyie, also known as Sir John; and numerous high-profile corruption cases.

It appears that the intoxication of power prevents people from knowing right from wrong when they are in positions of authority and committing crimes or actions that harm others. I couldn’t believe Paul Adom-Otchere when he said, “He never had training in journalism whereby he is sent to say something that is not true,” despite all that he had done to Ghanaians. Paul Adom-Otchere has a similar wicked soul to Gertrude Torkornoo and Jean Mensa; they believed what they were doing was against the NDC.

Pastors are said to be men of God whose job it is to establish a beautiful and peaceful community, yet many people admire them despite their involvement in corruption scandals, while others hate journalists and writers who challenge the immoralities and corruption of governments. That’s why I became the victim of hate and insults, but even if it means my head landing on a silver platter, I will not give up on the struggle for the advancement of my dear nation, Ghana.

The intelligent ones among Ghanaians are now so wise that you cannot convince them to purchase your unsellable goods because they are aware of which political party is incompetent and corrupt and has a superior system of governance. Since the economy is slowly improving and the value of the national currency is steadily getting stronger, I don’t think the people have any more faith in the opposition to hand over power to them today or tomorrow. Paul Adom-Otchere knows this very well.

I can’t cure Paul Adom-Othere’s addiction to his bogus, biased, unprofessional, and crime-supporting journalism. He is the one capable of healing himself, but if he can’t, then he must quit journalism because he is a waste to humanity.
