Economy rebounding, translating into tangible benefits under Mahama — Omane Boamah blasts micro-Minority NPP

Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has criticized the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing them of repeating the same errors that led to their 2024 electoral defeat.

In a statement on his Facebook page, Dr. Boamah referred to the current NPP minority as a “micro-minority” and said the party is “sinking in the same mud” that caused what he described as their “most humiliating defeat in recent memory.”

“The economy is improving and it’s beginning to translate into tangible benefits for Ghanaians under President John Dramani Mahama,” Dr. Boamah said, emphasizing that the government remains focused on consolidating gains from the post-pandemic recovery.

He also commended the vigilance of citizens and civil society groups in protecting the integrity of the 2024 general elections, asserting that without their alertness, the NPP would have succeeded in manipulating the voters’ register.

“Thank God you all helped us to stop their attempts to rig the 2024 elections,” he added. “We’ll stay focused on the ball.”

Dr. Boamah’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Parliament and growing scrutiny of the Mahama administration’s efforts to stabilise the economy and address unemployment.
