Schlupp receives FA Cup winner’s medal despite being on loan at Celtic

Ghanaian international, Jeffrey Schlupp’s name will be etched in history alongside the Crystal Palace players who lifted the FA Cup trophy after the London club’s historic 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the 2024/25 final.

Crystal Palace’s triumph marked their first major trophy in their 119-year history, with Eberechi Eze scoring the decisive goal.

Despite joining Celtic on loan in January, Schlupp’s single appearance earlier in the competition, where he played 14 minutes in Palace’s third-round win against Stockport County, was enough to qualify him for a winner’s medal.

Schlupp celebrated the FA Cup success on social media, sharing a picture of himself receiving the medal.

This achievement adds to his impressive collection of major trophies, including the Premier League title with Leicester City in 2015/16 and the Scottish Premiership title with Celtic in 2024/25.

The Ghanaian midfielder’s versatility and talent have been evident throughout his career, and his time at Celtic has been no exception.

The Ghanaian international has contributed to the Scottish champions’ success, including appearances in the UEFA Champions League and winning the Scottish Premier League.

With Celtic set to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final on May 24, Schlupp could add another trophy to his list of achievements.

The 32-year-old could write history on Saturday by becoming the first ever player to win the Scottish Cup and the FA Cup in the same season.

As Schlupp’s contract with Crystal Palace expires, speculation surrounds his future.

A potential permanent move to Celtic is possible, and Schlupp’s performances for the Scottish giants have been impressive, with one goal and one assist in 13 league matches.
