The Police in Walewale in the North East Region, have confirmed the arrest of two individuals, Mohammed Basit, aged 18 and Baba Rasid, aged 22.

The two allegedly stole a side arm and ammunition belonging to an Immigration Officer.

According to a Police report, the incident took place around 12:00pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025, when the suspects broke into the officer’s room while he was away and stole a Smith & Wesson pistol loaded with ten rounds of ammunition, along with two CZ rifle magazines, each containing 30 rounds of ammunition.

Following the officer’s report, police intelligence efforts led to the apprehension of the suspects at Kperiga, a suburb of Walewale.
