In a groundbreaking achievement that seeks to encourage, inspire the next generation, and celebrate sporting excellence, Media General’s Clifford Owusu Peprah finished fourth in the 2024 AIPS Sports Media Young Reporter’s photography category.

Clifford’s final ranking saw him beat hundreds of entries across the globe after a rigorous three-stage judging process overseen by the AIPS Executive Committee.

This monumental achievement bears testament to Clifford’s unwavering dedication and commitment to his craft and  desire for sports.

Telling the African story from the lenses, Clifford has been capturing undiluted emotions and breathtaking moments for the past four years.

At the first time of asking, Clifford Owusu’s work of art at the 2024 African Games, where he captured high-jumper Evans Cadman Yamoah en-route to a gold medal finish, was duly recognised by AIPS – the international governing body committed to rewarding sports journalist for their hardwork, ingenuity and innovation.

Evans Cadman Yamoah’s gold-winning jump at the 2023 African Games captured by Clifford Owusu Peprah.

Clifford Owusu’s global recognition has left the entire Media General beaming with pride and smiles.

Not only does this speak of our company as the leading media brand in Ghana, it also lays credence to our ability to nurture, harness, and hand out platforms to young talents.

Unbridled joy from Cadman after annexing gold at the 2023 African Games.

We say ‘Ayekoo’ to Clifford Owusu, who has been working with Media General as a photo journalist since 2021, for chalking this feat; placing himself and the company at large on the global front.
