Member of Parliament for Bekwai in the Ashanti Region Ralph Poku-Adusei
The Member of Parliament for Bekwai in the Ashanti Region Ralph Poku-Adusei, has fulfilled a series of commitments made during recent community harvest festivals
He has disbursed support to more than 35 communities and institutions in what is being described as a significant boost to local development efforts.
The MP’s office says the support, comprising cash donations of nearly GH¢100,000, cement, tiles, and roofing sheets, is aimed at strengthening grassroots development, alleviating poverty, and enhancing the capacity of community-based initiatives.
“This is part of a broader plan to make the Bekwai Constituency self-sufficient,” the MP’s office said in a statement. “Our people deserve action, not just promises.”
Beneficiary towns include Wioso, Kokofu, Ahwiren, Bedomase, Essumeja, and Nkyekyeam, among others.
Religious groups such as the Catholic Youth Conference, SDA Conference, and Muslim communities in Bekwai and Poano also received support.
In addition, the Adankragya Kindergarten was presented with a 32-inch television set to aid in early childhood education, while two physically challenged residents were given wheelchairs—an effort to improve mobility and restore independence.
The MP’s office described the interventions as fulfilment of pledges made during annual harvest celebrations held across the constituency in recent months.
For many residents, the gesture reflects a level of political accountability they say is often lacking.
