The African Science Academy (ASA) will proudly celebrate the achievements of its Class of 2025 at a graduation ceremony scheduled for Monday, 9 June 2025, at 11:00 AM, hosted at the University of Ghana campus in Accra.
This milestone event marks not just the end of a transformative academic journey, but the launch of a new generation of female STEM leaders ready to shape the future of Africa and the world.
Founded in 2016, the African Science Academy is a pioneering all-girls Advanced Level school for young women from across Africa with outstanding potential in mathematics, further mathematics, and physics. ASA offers an intensive one-year pre-university programme that prepares students for STEM varied careers.
ASA’s mission is simple yet powerful: to transform the lives of brilliant young African women through science and technology education. Its vision is to see these women become engineers, scientists, innovators, and changemakers who will drive development across the continent.

STEM Champions in Record Time
In less than a year, ASA students undergo a rigorous academic programme that builds their technical skills, leadership capacity, and global awareness.
Many of them go on to earn fully funded scholarships at leading universities. What sets ASA apart is not just academic excellence, but the confidence and purpose instilled in each student.
This year’s ceremony promises to be a heartwarming celebration of resilience, intellect, and determination. Families, partners, educators, and well-wishers will gather to honour the achievements of the students and reflect on the Academy’s growing legacy.
Founder Tom Ilube, staff members, and a host of special guests will join in celebrating the class, whose journey has been marked by academic rigour, innovation, and community impact.
As ASA continues to empower young women across Africa to dream bigger and aim higher, this graduation stands as a powerful reminder: when you educate a girl in STEM, you’re not just changing her life you’re changing the world.
