MP for Old Tafo Constituency, Vincent Ekow Assafuah MP for Old Tafo Constituency, Vincent Ekow Assafuah

The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has urged Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to take their studies seriously and avoid malpractice.

Speaking to the students, Assafuah emphasised that success requires dedication and hard work.

“Nine days may seem short, but it is not too short to take lightly. It is enough time to add something valuable to your mental capacity, but only if you are focused and committed,” he said.

The MP also announced plans to organise constituency and municipal revision classes for students, aiming to replicate the initiative twice a year and extend support to senior high schools.

“We want to raise the flag of Old Tafo high so that everyone in the region recognises what Old Tafo stands for,” he added.

Vincent Assafuah warned against cheating and misconduct, cautioning that such behavior not only jeopardizes the student’s future but also tarnishes the reputation of the entire municipality.

He acknowledged the challenges some students face, including lack of resources, and assured them of his commitment to supporting them in their final stretch.

As part of his gesture, the MP presented 5,000 mathematical sets to the students through the Municipal Education Directorate.

Following the MP’s speech, Betty Drah, the Municipal Education Director, thanked him for his generosity and offered additional advice to the students.

“Do your own independent work, avoid any form of malpractice or cheating, and read each question carefully and answer it thoroughly,” she advised.

A total of 2,029 candidates, comprising 1,008 boys and 1,021 girls, are sitting for the BECE exams in the Old Tafo Municipality, Betty Drah disclosed.
