The Assin Odumasi Restoration Child and Youth Development, in partnership with Compassion International, has donated farm tools valued at GH¢44,000 to support about 100 local farmers in boosting agricultural productivity.

The items donated included 100 pieces each of hoes, machetes, watering cans, and agro crown spraying machines. The gesture is intended to help farmers work more efficiently, reduce manual labour, and increase their crop yields.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Rev. John Evans Arthur, Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, emphasized the importance of farm tools in enhancing agricultural efficiency and sustainability. He explained that the beneficiaries are parents of children supported by Compassion International.

“These tools are not only meant to ease your farming work but also to help improve your yield so you can better support your children and families,” Rev. Arthur said. He encouraged the farmers to maintain the tools properly, noting that their usage would be monitored to guide future interventions.

Pastor Peter Hagan, one of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the support. He said the tools would allow him to prepare his land more efficiently, boost crop production, and contribute to food security in the community.

“This will help me become self-sufficient and provide for my family,” he added.

Mrs. Theresah Amoah, another recipient, said the tools would help her sustain her farming activities and support her household.

Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Fenyo, Project Director, also urged the farmers to use the tools for their intended purpose and take good care of them to ensure their longevity.
