WENCHIMANHENE, Osagyefo Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, carries a rich lineage as the great-grandson of the esteemed Daasebre Osei Bonsu I, who held the esteemed position of paramount chief of the Asante Manpɔn Traditional Area from 1916 to 1930. He is also the grandson of the notable Asante Manpɔn Akwamuhene, Ahenkan Oheneba Oti Owusu Afriyie and Nana Atoa Sramagyedua III, who has served as the Queen of the Wenchi Traditional Area since 1977.

Wenchimanhene’s mother, Victoria Osei Bonsu (Néé: Nana Serwaa Akoto), bears a name that honors the legacy of Manpɔhemaa, Nana Serwaa Akoto, who reigned from 1902 to 1922. She is the daughter of the late Akwamuhene and Wenchihemaa, highlighting the esteemed family heritage.

The late Akwamuhene, Wenchimanhene’s grandfather, was the first son of Daasebre Osei Bonsu I and was celebrated for his pivotal role in selecting Daasebre Osei Bonsu II as the occupant of the revered Amaniampong Silver Stool.

Wenchimanhene graciously attended the royal burial of his great-grandfather, honoring his family’s traditions and lineage.

It has been noted that whenever Daasebre encountered Wenchimanhene at the National House of Chiefs, he addressed him warmly as “Me Nana.”
